About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems, networks, and applications for suspicious activity and potential threats.

  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, creating detailed reports on findings and mitigation actions.

  • Analyse logs and data from firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection tools.

  • Track and evaluate new and emerging threats, providing threat intelligence to stakeholders.

  • Support vulnerability management processes by identifying and reporting weaknesses for remediation.

  • Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Assist with compliance efforts by monitoring adherence to industry regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).

  • Provide actionable insights and reports to leadership on the organisation’s security posture.


Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity monitoring, threat analysis, and incident response.

  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.

  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing logs, network traffic, and security alerts to identify risks and anomalies.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks like NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.

  • Understanding of network protocols and common attack vectors (e.g., phishing, malware, ransomware).

  • Excellent communication skills for creating reports and presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) are highly desirable.
