Salary Range
Salaries for Corporate & Commercial Lawyer – Government Procurement roles range from $120k to $150k including super, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver legal advisory services in government procurement, corporate governance, and commercial contracting
Draft and negotiate contracts, provide probity advice, and support high-value Commonwealth procurement activities
Interpret legislation and case law to develop innovative commercial solutions
Provide practical legal guidance across the procurement and contracting lifecycle
Collaborate with cross-functional client and internal teams on strategic matters
Participate in AAT litigation proceedings, where applicable
Contribute to a culture of mentorship, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
Skills and Experience
Security Clearance: AGSVA NV1 (Minimum) required, or the ability to obtain one
Practising Certificate in ACT or NSW (or ability to obtain one)
2–5 years PQE in Commercial or Corporate Law
Experience in at least one of the following: Litigation, Contracting, Government Procurement, Probity, Governance
Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills
AAT litigation experience (Desirable)
Ability to think critically, commercially, and creatively in a legal context

About the Role

Develop project documentation including risk registers, delivery roadmaps, and executive briefings
Manage stakeholder communications and maintain strong project governance frameworks
Facilitate security workshops, technical working groups, and compliance forums
Support audit readiness and continuous improvement through clear, accurate documentation
Skills and Experience
Minimum NV1 Security Clearance required
Proven experience leading cyber security and ICT delivery within Defence or government
